Helicopter Spins Uncontrollably into Palm Groves at Frequented Southern California Beach
A helicopter soaring over a crowded coastal shoreline suddenly started spinning uncontrollably, eventually losing altitude and smashing into a cluster of palm trees as beachgoers watched.
Videos uploaded on the internet capture the aircraft beginning to twirl near the shoreline then plunging near the border of the beach, where it becomes wedged between palm groves and a set of stairs close to the coastal road.
Rescue Operation Information
Emergency responders stated five people were rushed to the hospital comprising two who were in the chopper and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” after the incident on that day.
Three people on the street were injured. Details on their wounds were not immediately available.
The cause of the crash was not immediately released.

Officials said the helicopter was associated with an yearly “Cars N Copters” fundraising event set for the following day.
