NFL Roundup: Broncos Edge Hapless Jets in Defensive Affair

In a low-scoring contest this weekend, the Broncos clinched a close win over the struggling New York Jets. Signal-caller Bo Nix connected on a first-quarter touchdown pass and kicker Wil Lutz kicked the late decisive three-pointer to secure the ugly win.

Dominant Performance Wins Game

Even with recording nine sacks versus Jets quarterback Justin Fields, the Broncos found themselves trailing 11-10 following giving up a two-point play in the third quarter. Remarkably, the Jets managed just 82 offensive yards during the entire game.

Nix, who completed 19 of 30 attempts for 174 yards, engineered a decisive 12-play, 65-yard drive that ended with Lutz's 27-yard kick with approximately five minutes left.

Record Difficulties for Jets Attack

Despite their dismal performance, the Jets still had possession with a chance to drive for a possible victory. However Fields was sacked on fourth down from the Denver 44 when coach Aaron Glenn chose to go for it rather than sending out specialist Nick Folk for a long field-goal attempt.

Fields struggled all game, completing just 9 of 17 attempts for 45 yards. New York finished with minus-10 passing yards, the lowest in any contest since 1998.

"Our passing game was completely absent," the coach stated after the game.
