Paramount Skydance Will Eliminate Approximately 2,000 American Positions – News
Skydance Paramount is scheduled to initiate mass layoffs the week of 27 October, cutting about 2,000 US jobs within a expense reduction strategy totaling $2bn led by new chief executive David Ellison.
The workforce reduction are a result of the merger of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, completed in August worth $8.4bn.
Further global layoffs are likely, as the firm aiming to announce complete information during its third quarter earnings report scheduled for November 10.
Previous updates stated the company was looking to reduce from 2,000 and 3,000 jobs by early November.
As of December 2024, Paramount employed about 18,600 workers on full-time and part-time contracts and 3,500 project-based staff.
Paramount Skydance did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
