Series of Incidents
Since the start of the full-scale conflict in Ukraine, a string of Russian military personnel have been subjected to assaults within Moscow.
This new event echoes other notable incidents, such as:
- General Yaroslav Moskalik was lost his life in a vehicle explosion in Moscow earlier this year.
- General Igor Kirillov was killed in late 2024 when a device hidden on a scooter was triggered from afar.
While a Ukrainian source previously attributed Kirillov's death to Ukraine's security service, such allegations are never formally acknowledged as a matter of policy.
The conflict has witnessed clandestine operations moving into the streets of the Russian capital.
The examination into General Sarvarov's death is still ongoing.
