The Renowned Musician Calls On Support to Propel Palestinian Solidarity Track to UK Festive Top Spot.

A fundraising initiative is aiming to propel a Palestinian lullaby to the Christmas number one spot. The campaign aims to deliver assistance to communities in Gaza while also showcasing Palestinian artistic heritage.

A Possibility for Unity and an "Surprise Victory"

Renowned figure Brian Eno, who performs on the track, stated that the release called 'Lullaby' represents a moment to support Palestinians this festive season. He noted the potential for an unlikely festive coup.

“It would be fantastic if that happened, yes,” he stated. “I wouldn't be completely let down if it fails to, festive releases are a category of their own.”

Defiant Message of Freedom and Dignity

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the adaptation of a cultural piece called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the song's powerful central theme.

“The song holds a very special place for a lot of people,” Barghouti shared. “The essence is that I would choose to perish with honor than spend my life without freedom. This is the primary message of the song; we seek to lead a life of dignity that we deserve as Palestinians.”

Track's Background and Featured Artists

The track was produced following a large-scale benefit event held in late summer. Originally intended to be done as a live recording, the piece was shelved during the concert due to scheduling overruns.

The impressive roster of performers contributing to Lullaby includes a range of acclaimed names from the music world. All took part in the September show, which successfully generated a substantial amount for charitable causes.

Creation and Launch

Lullaby was brought to life by a team of music creators. The single features a mix of the original Arabic with freshly written English words.

The team running the campaign have stated that their goal is to generate maximum funds for a specific fund. These proceeds will be allocated to initiatives supporting Palestinians through an non-profit partner.

“There is no a fixed goal,” a spokesperson explained. “We’ll go for whatever we can get. Naturally, the greater the amount, the better. All proceeds are directed out to Gaza.”

The situation in the area was noted for its profound destruction, with a huge proportion of infrastructure reportedly levelled or seriously harmed.

“In that context, a few million doesn’t make that much difference. But I think what truly matters is above all making this cause better known and proving that another narrative exists.”

The single 'Lullaby' is set to be released on Friday. Additionally, a complete film of the benefit event will be made accessible to view on a digital service from the 19th of December.
